General

The Seaport Ferry is open to the public. Tickets are $5 each way. Our mobile app is the easiest way to purchase your ticket. See above to download the app and buy your tickets.

Children under 12 can ride the Seaport Ferry for free, and must be accompanied by a paying adult.

For group travel, please purchase the necessary number of tickets. You may activate multiple tickets one at a time in your mobile app.

There are no free transfers between the North Station and East Boston routes. Ticket types are route specific and cannot be transferred from one route to the other.

One-way / round-trip tickets expire within 30 days of purchase whether activated or not. One-way tickets can be scanned once. Round-trip tickets are delivered as two (2) one-way tickets that can each be scanned once.

Corporate tickets expire on the last day of the month.

All tickets and passes are non-refundable after purchase. Transit service may be delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather, harbor conditions, mechanical problems or other circumstances. The MCCA is not liable for any loss, damage, or refunds arising from or related to delayed or cancelled service, or for any act or failure to act resulting in delays or cancellations.

Please review the service maps and schedules prior to purchasing your ticket. Ticket refunds may be considered, but not guaranteed, in the event of a necessary service cancellation as determined by the MCCA. Policy is subject to change.

Corporate Riders

Corporate riders are employees and tenants of participating funding companies. Corporate riders receive a free monthly ferry pass, issued as a mobile ticket. If you are not an employee or tenant of a funding company, you are considered a public rider and can purchase tickets for $5 each way.

If you are unsure if your company is a funding company, please reach out to us at SeaportFerry@massconvention.com.

  1. Create an account in the Seaport Ferry app using your corporate email address. Follow the instructions above to download the Seaport Ferry App and create an account. Corporate riders do NOT need to add a credit card or purchase a pass.
  2. After creating an account, email SeaportFerry@massconvention.com and let us know the email account you used to register your corporate account.
  3. You will NOT receive your first ticket immediately. New accounts are issued their first ticket on Thursdays. Your account must be registered by 5PM on the Wednesday prior and the MCCA must be informed of the new account being created.
  4. If you wish to ride the ferry before your pass is issued, see a dock agent and show your corporate ID to receive a guest pass.
  5. Going forward, your next month’s pass will be issued on the last Thursday of the preceding month.
Seaport Ferry App

Activate your ticket when boarding the ferry. Do not activate prior to boarding the vessel, as tickets are only active for the length of your trip. Have your ticket ready for scanning by the crew.

If you lose your device or purchase a new one, you can transfer any valid tickets to a new device. To transfer your tickets and account to a new device, download the mobile ticketing app on your new device and log in. You will be prompted to confirm you wish to transfer your account to this new device.

Your Seaport Ferry account can be transferred between devices 3 times in 6 months, at most. For additional transfers, contact the MCCA to have your account reset.
