About the Seaport Ferry

The first public-private partnership of its kind, this commuter ferry service is generously funded by several companies throughout the Seaport. The ferry allows riders from both the funding companies and the public to experience the ease of traveling on the water. The benefits of the ferry service include reducing traffic congestion on roadways, helping the environment, and enhancing ease of travel.

The Seaport Ferry service is managed by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA).

The MCCA’s mission is to generate significant regional economic activity by attracting conventions, trade shows, and other events to its world-class facilities while maximizing the investment return for the residents and businesses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

MCCA also works with city and state agencies to facilitate transit improvements in the South Boston Waterfront through both the private shuttle consolidation and the public-private Seaport Ferry. The MCCA has partnered with the Boston based boat operator Bay State Cruises to operate the ferry service.
